Description: When the user opens a new message and clicks on the “to” button, the users personal contacts are not displayed in the list.
Resolution Steps:
How to add Contacts to the main Address Book in Outlook 2003:
1. Run Outlook 2003 and from the Tools menu select E-mail Accounts… to see a window similar to the following:

2. Under the Directory heading select the “Add a new directory or addres
s book” option and click on Next.

3. Select the “Additional Address Books” option then click on Next.

4. Ensure that “Outlook Address Book” is highlighted and then click on Next. A warning message is displayed that says you must exit from Outlook and then restart Outlook in order to start the new Address book. Do this now.

5. After restarting Outlook select Contacts from the Go menu to open your Contacts folder.

6. Right-click on your Contacts folder and select the Properties option. Next click on the “Outlook Address Book” tab and check that the option “Show this folder as an e-mail Address book” is selected.

7. Click on OK to complete the process.
How to show your Contacts in preference to the Global Address List:
1. Run Outlook 2003 and open the Address Book by selecting the Address Book… option from the Tools menu. Then in the window that opens select Options… from the Tools menu.

2. In the “Show this address list first” area select Contacts from the available options. If you only want to check names against your Contacts list you should highlight Global Address List and then click on the Remove button (see below).

3. Click on OK to complete the process.
